GREEN BAY, WI — September 1, 2025 — GKM WI Global Supply Chain, LLC (a Wisconsin Corporation), creators of The Wisconsin Platform, an innovative solution for intermodal traffic into and out of Wisconsin that increases supply-chain efficiencies, announced that its GKM WI Intermode-Direct dedicated model would be expanded to serve more exporters in Wisconsin.
After months of constructing a model that would meet execution and operation deliverables to allow Vollrath Companies in Sheboygan to eliminate its private fleet, the dedicated model went live in June of 2023. The dedicated model delivered the following advantages.
- More efficient and cost-effective than a National Dedicated Service provider that competed for the Vollrath contract.
- Allowed the client to cancel all transportation-related equipment leases. Most were assumed or terminated by the GKM’s carrier.
- The contract was easier to navigate and approve than the agreement offered by the National Company, and had less restrictive terms.
- GKM WI used analytics and developed models to determine how to maximize flow-principles and eliminate barriers to success.
“Our initial client is very pleased with the results and has now agreed to sign a multi-year contract,” said Garry Moss, President and CEO of GKM WI and the creator of the Wisconsin TEU Intermodal Platform. “It’s time now to roll this solution out to more manufacturers in Wisconsin.”
From 2013- 2023, GKM WI management analyzed 10 years of linear and non-linear data to integrate the final piece of the Schematic Design’s Circuitous Flow Model. With results for Imports quantified, attention turned to using the same model for companies that export. Key outcomes include, but aren’t limited to: elimination of Chassis Split, Pre-Pull, Drop, Overweight, Storage, Limited Access, Additional Drop, and TEU Termination (Demurrage) fees, and inventory management. The dedicated model goes beyond consulting to handle the actual work.
The results the company has achieved in Wisconsin have caught the attention of the Departments of Transportation in surrounding states. GKM has expanded the Platform to include TEU flow-analytics, management, and transload services for companies that import or export products in, KS, MI, MO, IA, IN, KY, MN, OH, and TN.
Since the Platform launched 10 years ago, every company that has onboarded is still a client. Over the same period, there haven’t been any incidents resulting in damage during the transfer process, pallet builds that are per client specifications, or delivering goods to final destinations.
